[Basic Knowledge] Calendar Molding: "About Thickness Precision Adjustment"

By applying lamination, it is possible to accommodate thicknesses of approximately 3.0 to 5.0 mm!

In a calendar forming machine, the thickness adjustment is made by widening or narrowing the gap between the rolls, allowing for arbitrary control of the amount of resin being rolled to achieve the desired thickness. The thickness tolerance varies depending on the material, but it is approximately 10%. If aiming for a thickness of 1.0mm, it would be around +0.1mm. In the T-die method (extrusion molding), the thickness is managed by adjusting each screw at the outlet, resulting in higher thickness precision compared to calendar forming, but it requires more effort and time. In calendar forming, for PVC sheets, it is easy to adjust the thickness from about 0.2 to 1.0mm even during production. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.
